IDW Publishing had a plethora of great news a this year’s WonderCon, announcing the upcoming release of several new and exciting titles. With the convention now over, it’s pleasing to see all the work the company is putting into its titles to make a huge step as one of the premiere publishers in the comic book industry.
Phil Hester and Andrea Di Vito are relaunching an iconic series this August with the release of a brand new volume of Thunder Agents. This legendary team of superheroes will be doing their thing, providing the world with the protection it deserves from the forces of evil on a day to day basis, marking one of the only major superhero titles to be released by the company. This brand new title will be hitting shelves soon, so be sure to look out for the classic super hero styling of the all-new Thunder Agents soon.
Also announced is the highly-classified return of the multimedia badass Black Dynamite! While few details are known, the story of the former CIA agent and international expert of all things awesome is poised to make his return to the mainstream soon with this brand new series.
Gary Gerani will also be reviving a classic series this summer, as the iconic Topps series Dinosaurs Attack! will be returning to the public once more, this time in a comic book series. Featuring Gerani, along with Earl Norem, Herb Trimpe, and George Freeman, this series will likely encapsulate the old Topps style of wacky, satirical violence that can only help but be funny. With the humor and extravagance on full display, this should be a fun series for fans to check out when it hit stores in the next few months.
IDW also announced a major crossover to come soon, with legendary comic book characters The Spirit and The Rocketeer meeting up for the first time. With Denny Colt and Cliff Secord finally clashing, this series is poised to be an instant classic, pitting two of the biggest names in the comic book world against one another. the four issue mini series is also going to be done by the stellar team of Mark Waid and Paul Smith, so look out for The Spirit/The Rocketeer: Pulp Friction this July.
