“World of Warcraft” No Longer Racially Biased
Posted on August 20, 2012 AT 04:38pm
Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls, Night Elves, and even the lowly Human: if you’ve been stuck playing some of the original races in World of Warcraft, either playing the base free game, or just having never decided to upgrade.
With the upcoming Mists of Pandaria, a new playable race will join the game, but soon after, a patch will allow all players access to all races. You no longer need to buy expansions, including the soon-launching Mists, to play as any of the expanded races, the Worgen, Draenei, Goblin, Blood Elf, and Pandaren.
Obviously, this is an attempt to get more players into the game on the entry level, letting them purchase expansions once they’ve had a taste of new races. For long-standing players who have all expansions, it’s nothing new, but for lapsed or new players, it’s a great time to jump in to try some new players out.
