World War Z Official Trailer Drops With Thousands of CGI Zombies
Posted on November 9, 2012 AT 01:48pm
I love World War Z. I think it’s one of the best pieces of pop literature to come out in the past decade. Rather than tell a normal narrative told from the third person perspective as most novels do, it’s a recounting of an event that never happened, told after the fact. The book is from the perspective of a journalist who goes around the world to find out how a giant zombie outbreak started and the personal stories of who it effected. Written by Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks, the story switches perspectives, becomes immediately personal and at times incredibly scary. So why does this movie lack any of that charm or personality?
The trailer here focuses on Brad Pitt’s character Gerry Lane, some one who simply isn’t in the book. Gerry is a UN Worker who’s tasked with helping stop the zombie invasion which is quickly destroying humanity. The problem here is that this is an action movie. It drops the multiple narratives in favor of something much more akin to a Michael Bay movie. Thousands of CGI Zombies, large sweeping shots and so much CGI that it’s hard to tell whats real… but not because it looks good… just because there’s so much of it.
World War Z hits on June 21st, 2013 and is directed by Marc Forster
What do you think of the trailer? Is this something you want to see? Leave comments and let us know.
