WTF Wednesday: Mike “MikeDiva” Dahlquist

Posted on September 11, 2013 AT 10:59pm

This week, we have music videos, shorts, and more; today isn’t just WTF, it’s WTF’n AWESOME.

Mike Dahlquist, mostly known as MikeDiva, is a prolific purveyor of partially perverse and pretty to perceive videos of all sorts. We’re technically playing this fast and loose this week, because a lot of his videos are just straight badass and not totally WTF-y, per se… Though most of the time, there’s weird, dark, or just plain freaky stuff going on.

I’m not even gonna bother with going chronological this time, because his timeline is hard to follow. Mike has been making videos on YouTube for over seven years, but they’re scattered over many channels: His own [MikeDiva], CorridorDigital, BAMMO, Mindless Self Indulgence’s channel, and more. So consider this a sampling of his amazing and often insane videos.

Back in 2004, Mindless Self Indulgence selected Dahlquist to make a video for their song “Mark David Chapman”:

Obviously, they liked his style, because he was brought back to make the video “I’m On Crack” for their side project, The Left Rights:

He’s also done videos for 3OH!3, Kill The Noise, The M Machine, and even his own band, Vyncent Flaw. I’d share them ALL, but we’d be here all night. So, here, have a sweet story about a girl and her robot.

But like I said at the start, he isn’t all about music videos. Sometimes he makes creepy commercials.

And other times… he shows his slender side with short films about … Slender Man.

Now that I’ve given you sufficient nightmare fuel with that last video…  I think it’s time to let you loose on the rest of his creations.

If you want to check out more of his videos, check out any of these YouTube channel links, in case you missed them above:

I hope there was a good WTF-to-Awesome ratio. It’s hard to balance, dunchaknow. See ya next week!

Bryan Todd [aka DieselBT] -- This is where I'm supposed to say something clever about myself. Let's pretend I did, and it conveniently mentions all of my top interests, such as anime, video games, crazy gadgets, electronic music, voice acting, sound editing, and countless other ridiculously fascinating topics. I also like to write stuff about things, which is why I'm here.

...That, and I like your shirt.
