Acclaimed Indie tower defence game Dungeon Defenders is getting an interesting addition to its character lineup in its new DLC. The Summoner, included in the new DLC pack introduces an RTS element to the game. Instead of creating turrets to defend the Eternia Crystals, the Summoner calls upon his own personal army and controls them in a top down perspective instead of placing defences.
As the Summoner is not meant to engage in combat, he has a trio of features that make him very useful as a support character. The first is a support ability called Flash Heal which instantly heals all allied units and defenses within a radius. The other ability he has is Phase Shift, a power that makes the Summoner invisible and invulnerable to enemies. The last way the Summoner is made distinct from the existing classes is his ability to equip two pets instead of the one like the other champions.
You can pick up the Summoner and his minions at the steam store for $3.99. If you don’t already have Dungeon Defenders, the game will cost you $14.99 at the same location.
