For many of us, getting achievements for performing certain tasks in games feels rewarding on its own. However, if you’re an Xbox Live user, those achievements might be coming with a few extra perks.

The new rewards system is based on your Gamerscore. If you have between 3,000 and 9,999 points, you can get a special gift for your birthday (not a diamond pony, though). For the next tier of points (10,000 – 24,999), you can also get a 1% rebate on some XBL purchases. And for those dedicated gamers with over 25,000 points, that rebate increases to 2%.
