Deep Silver has just released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel to Dead Island, and you can watch it down below!

Somewhat similar in tone to the first game’s teaser, the trailer for Dead Island Riptide shows a young couple on the verge of being eaten by the undead, and the drastic choice they have to make.

Riptide will take place after a monsoon hits the city of Henderson and jungle areas on the island of Palanai, with boats being the only remaining way of transportation. A fifth character will join the team, with an all-new and unique skillset that will be needed to take down the zombie mutations that have emerged all over the island. In new hub defense missions the co-op teamplay skills of the survivors will be tested to the limit, where traps, fences and turrets need to be placed strategically to fend off oncoming zombie attacks and to protect the survivors.

Dead Island Riptide will be released in 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
