This weekend, Dust 514 starts kicking the tires in its first closed beta test. The test started on Friday and will go on until July 2nd.

Dust 514 is unique in gaming because it is a game which is basically a side story to a game that is currently ongoing: EVE Online. In Dust 514 you play a mercenary who takes his jobs from the corporations run by the players of EVE Online

So while EVE players battle and scheme on PC, Dust players accept their missions on the PS3. It’s an interesting idea which I hope this melding of two games across two different genres can be pulled off.
