“Metro: Last Light” Arrives In May
Posted on March 1, 2013 AT 10:53am
Deep Silver, the new publisher of the Metro series, has announced that the highly-anticipated sequel will be hitting stores this spring.
Metro: Last Light has been given a release date of May 14 in North and Latin America, with a European release date three days later.
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary,” said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. “We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”
Metro: Last Light takes place soon after the events of Metro 2033, where a nuclear war transformed the world into a wasteland. The tunnels of the Moscow Metro are now used as shelter for the former inhabitants of the city, but within the catacombs the survivors must fend off both hideous mutants born from the toxic atmosphere and various other factions wanting to control what little land remains. During these dark hours, the players will embody Artyom, and become the last light for all of mankind.
Metro: Last Light will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. A Wii U version was planned, but now appears to be cancelled.
