PAX EAST 2014 | If Any Game Deserves a Pre-Sequel, Borderlands Does!

Posted on April 12, 2014 AT 05:18am

Gearbox and 2K games are at it again and if you don’t like that combination, Handsome Jack will have your family pushed into traffic.

Looks like the franchise is far from over which is a good thing. Yesterday they announced their first ever pre-sequel! That’s right the events of pre-sequel occur AFTER Borderlands (thus it being a sequel) but BEFORE the events of Borderlands 2 (thus making it a prequel). I hope you are following along; things are about to get stellar lunar.

Whenever Gearbox and 2K do anything Borderlands related, they are always sure to introduce something new and have the best time while doing it.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will have all those goodies you loved from the previous and future games and more on top of that.

We are getting some new game mechanics that revolve around the use of Oxygen. Since the story takes place on one of Pandora’s moons oxygen seems to be –I don’t know–vital to survival? What would I know, I just breath the stuff.

Along with a new setting and familiar faces, we are getting a few new class types to learn and wreak havoc and absolute mayhem with! I’m sure with more to follow after its Fall release.

Have I mentioned that Claptrap is playable yet?
I didn’t?! Well… He is.
Don’t thank me. Thank Gearbox and 2K for that stroke of utter BRILLIANCE.

Just when you thought your Borderlands fun would shift over into Telltale games territory – and you should totally play that game too because Telltale is JUST as awesome– your time in Borderlands will not feel complete until you digest Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and subsequently have your insides torn out so the rest of the gaming world can see.

Just Saying.
