Chris Ballew “Basitarist” and Vocalist from Alternative-Rock Band The Presidents of the United States of America and Children’s Songwriter Caspar Babypants are providing the quirky soundtrack for mind-bending puzzle game.
Chris is the twice Grammy nominated songwriter and lead singer for the four times platinum rock and roll band The Presidents of the United States of America. He didn’t leave the music industry altogether. Now he writes songs for kids under the name Caspar Babypants, who makes high quality, thoughtful, acoustic sing-along songs for parents and kids of all ages to enjoy together. With Chris Ballew’s focus being on the never-ending imagination of young children, it should be no surprise that his musical style would be a perfect match for the world of Quantum Conundrum.
In Quantum Conundrum, players take on the role of a young kid dropped off on his uncle’s doorstep for the weekend; his uncle just so happens to be a brilliant, eccentric inventor, named Professor Fitz Quadwrangle. Upon entering the Professor’s vast home decked out with crazy technology to test his latest hypotheses, players quickly realize their uncle has gone missing. Fortunately, players will gain access to Professor Quadwrangle’s latest invention, the Inter-Dimensional Shift Device, which, at the press of a button, will shift the world around them to an entirely new dimension. After that it is up to the player to solve the mystery of their missing family member- and have fun while doing it!
Looks like the Quantum Conundrum team has had its eye on him from the start:
Chris was our top choice to score Quantum Conundrum,” said Tom Smurdon, audio director for Quantum Conundrum at Airtight Games. “The team wanted someone who would be fun and quirky and would really fit the style of the game. He’s a ton of fun to work with and all of that comes through in the music he writes.
Developed by Airtight Games, Quantum Conundrum is now available for pre-order on Steam® for Windows PC. Get your imagination ready for the game’s release on June 21 for PC. Later this summer it will become available for the PlayStationNetwork and Xbox LIVE Arcade respectively.
