For Honor celebrates April Fools with a playground makeover

Ubisoft is getting in the April Fools’ Day spirit with a limited-time event in For Honor that’s downright juvenile.

In what the publisher is calling For Honor: Playground Edition, the historically inspired multiplayer action game is now full of toys and other childhood silliness. The makeover swaps out weapons for foam versions, ballista bolts for Nerf-style darts, and blood for confetti. You’re definitely still decapitating people, to be clear, but it’s a colorful, kid-friendly decapitation.

The revamp applies to all game modes, so you don’t have to do anything special to try it out.

You can see Playground Edition in action in the trailer below, and check out the official blog post for (a little) more info.

The event runs for one day only, so if you’d like to try it out for yourself be sure to hop while it’s still live. The game will revert to its standard bloody form a little after midnight—12:30 a.m. ET—on April 2nd.

For Honor is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The game is currently in its fifth year of regular content updates.
