BBC Home Video have announced that their March slate of DVDs and Blu-rays.

Or March 12th slate, as the case may be.

For fans of old Doctor Who, the BBC has two classic episodes slated for that day: Doctor Who: The Aztecs, which features the O.D. (original Doctor) William Hartnell, and a special edition of Doctor Who: The Ark In Space with #4, Tom Baker. While both have been digitally remastered, and include cast and crew commentaries as well as other extras, the latter also includes a movie version of the story. These two-disc sets will retail for $34.98 each.

That same day, the BBC will release their classic productions of Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass. Both discs will retail for $14.97 each.

Finally, the 12th will also see the first season of Ripper Street — as in Jack The Ripper — coming to DVD and Blu-ray. Besides the eight episodes, both versions will also include character profiles, featurettes on the cast and crew, a tour of Whitechapel, and a featurette on whether modern forensic science could solve the Jack The Ripper murders (CSI: Whitechapel anyone?). The three-disc DVD will retail for $29.98, while the two-disc BD will be $34.98.
