The British Are Coming! The British Are Coming

BBC Home Video have announced their March release schedule for DVDs and Blu-rays.

Kicking things off on March 6 is “MI-5: Volume 10,” which is the final season of this spy show. The two-disc DVD will retail for $29.98 and will include a look back at the show’s best moments and a featurette called “Harry’s Game.”

March 13 will be a big day for fans “Doctor Who,” as it sees the release of four different classic episodes on DVD. For those who favor the second Doc, Patrick Troughton, “Doctor Who: The Tomb Of The Cybermen: Special Edition” ($34.98) has him fighting the titular cyborgs, while “Doctor Who: The Three Doctors: Special Edition” ($34.98) finds him teaming up with his predecessor (William Hartnell) and his successor (Jon Pertwee) to fight off a black hole. “Cybermen” boasts a new commentary track, along with other extras, while “Three Doctors” has a commentary, a making-of featurette, and other extras.

For those who prefer their Doctor scarfed, two Tom Baker-era episodes are also being released. In “Doctor Who: The Face Of Evil” ($30.98),he and Leela land on a jungle planet right between two warring tribes. Extras include a commentary and a making-of featurette. Then, in “Doctor Who: The Robots Of Death: Special Edition” ($24.98), the Doc and Leela try to find out who’s killing the people on a mining ship filled with robots. It also features a new commentary along with other extras.

Finally, BBC America goes green with their award winning nature shows. “BBC High Definition Natural History Collection With Planet Earth Special Edition” ($134.99) presents their “Planet Earth,” “Wild Child,” “Galapagos,” and “Ganges” specials on an extras-packed, 10-disc Blu-ray set, while “BBC Natural History Collection With Planet Earth Special Edition” ($179.98) pairs “Planet Earth” with “The Blue Planet,” “The Life Of Mammals,” and “The Life Of Birds” on an 18-DVD set that’s also filled with extras.
