Criterion have announced their April DVD and Blu-ray releases, and among the release are a pair of cult classics.

On April 9 they’ll release David Cronenberg’s adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ novel Naked Lunch on Blu-ray. Besides digitally remastered picture and sound, the collection also include a commentary by Cronenberg and star Peter Weller, a 1992 making-of documentary, a special effects gallery, an audio recording of Burrough’s reading the book, a gallery of posters and other promotional material, a second gallery of Burroughs photos that were taken by Allen Ginsberg, and a booklet with writings by film critics, directors, and Burroughs. The Blu-ray will retail for $39.95.

A week later, on April 16, they’ll release another cult classic, Repo Man, on DVD and Blu-ray. Both will also feature spruced up picture and sound, as well as such extras as deleted scenes, trailers, the “cleaned up” version of the movie created by director Alex Cox, interviews with the cast and crew, a booklet with an illustrated production history and Cox’s original comic proposal, and a commentary by Cox, executive producer Michael Nesmith, casting director Victoria Thomas, and actors Sy Richardson, Del Zamora, and Zander Schloss. The DVD will retail for $29.95 while the Blu-ray will be $39.95.
