What’s up Doc?

Warner Home Video have announced that the first Blu-ray collection of classic Looney Tunes would be available November 15.

Dubbed the Looney Tunes Platinum Collection Volume 1, the three-disc set will include fifty classic cartoon shorts from such noted animated as Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery, and others. These include seminal adventures for such characters as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig, to name a few. It will also include such famed one-off shorts as “One Froggy Evening” and “I Love to Singa.”

Many of the tunes are augmented with audio commentaries, and/or alternate audio tracks.

Also included are making-of and behind-the-scenes documentaries, including three feature-length documentaries about director Chuck Jones—Chuck Amuck: The Movie, Chuck Jones: Extremes & In-Betweens, A Life in Animation, and Chick Jones: Memories of Childhood—as well as rare ’toons by Jones.

Besides a regular version of the collection, which will retail for $59.96, Warners are also releasing a numbered, limited edition version that comes with 52-page book with rare images, a tin sign, a collectible glass, and an original cell with a certificate of authenticity for $79.98.
