Transform and rollout!

Paramount Home Video have announced that Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be out on DVD and in a DVD/Blu-ray/Digital Copy collection on September 30, but that a deluxe 3D edition will be available later.

The Blu-ray will feature the movie in 1080p with English 7.1 Dolby TrueHD, 5.1 Discrete Dolby Digital for English, French, and Spanish, and English 2.0 Discrete Surround Dolby Digital, and with subtitles in English, English SDH, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The DVD—which will also be sold separately—will be widescreen, with 5.1 Discrete Dolby Digital for English, French, and Spanish, and English 2.0 Discrete Surround Dolby Digital.

The digital copy is presented in English 2.0 but with no subtitles.

NOTE: There will be no extras on any of the discs, and Paramount have not said what will be in the second versions, or when they’ll be out. But they did pass along this statement from Transformers director Michael Bay: “As you know, we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing—and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features.”
