THE BUZZ: It has forever lived in infamy amongst the Star Wars community and has long been swept under the rug by George Lucas for three decades now. But for some reason, after all this time, someone at Lucasarts has given the green light on a tribute to the often snickered at Star Wars Holiday Special.
The hit FOX show Glee had hinted at doing something Star Wars related for some time as pictures with the cast and crew of the show hit Twitter last month posing with everyone’s favorite wookie, Chewbacca. It was then revealed by series star Matthew Morrison yesterday, who also directed the Christmas episode of the hit show, that they will be paying tribute and doing a throwback to the Judy Garland Christmas special and, of all things, the often joked about Star Wars Holiday Special for their Christmas episode this year.
EGM’S TAKE: I think I’d rather have my face melt off like at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark than watch this show and particularly this episode. There is a reason why the holiday special has always been a joke amongst even the most hardcore of Star Wars fans and not in a good way.
So what do you folks think? Is this better for Glee or worse for Star Wars? Do you even care? Will you watch the episode? Let us know what you think with comments below.
