Illustrator Jed Henry launched a Tumblr account recently for posting video game-related artwork done in traditional Japanese woodblock style. The results? Pure awesomeness.

You can follow Jed’s Tumblr for his “Ukiyo-e Heroes” series via the link at the bottom of this post—which I would absolutely recommend if he keeps making sure amazing pieces of fan art. While I can’t get over the hilarity of the Mario Kart image, by far my favorite is Samus Aran. I would play ridiculous amounts of money to play a Metroid game of that style.

Illustrator Jed Henry launched a Tumblr account recently for posting video game-related artwork done in traditional Japanese woodblock style. The results? Pure awesomeness.
