Over 9 million people downloaded the Star Wars Battlefront beta, making it the largest such test in EA history, according to DICE’s senior producer Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir.
The beta was a massive success for DICE, bringing in a download count just shy of the population of the studio’s home country of Sweden.
“Ever since we revealed Star Wars Battlefront back in April, we knew the beta would be a huge test for our game,” Ingvarsdottir said. “After all, the beta has been one of the most talked about topics around the game over the last six months.”
She added that showing their work to such a broad swath of the gaming public was both exciting and “nerve-wracking” for the team.
“Like Han Solo at the end of A New Hope, we’re glad you showed up,” Ingvarsdottir said. “Even more importantly than just showing up, you’ve been spending a lot of time playing, having a great time’ and leaving us some invaluable feedback, as we continue to tune and balance the game until launch.”
The Battlefront beta has now come to a close, which means you’ll have to wait until the game releases on November 17th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC to get more hands-on time with the title.
