The first campaign episode for military sim Arma 3, titled Survive, is set to go live at the end of this month, developer Bohemia Interactive has announced.

The free downloadable content sees players take on the role of Ben Kerry, a soldier who is stationed in the Republic of Altis & Stratis as part of a peacekeeping operation. Following years of keeping the peace the US deployment is now in the process of withdrawing and the vacuum left is being filled by opposing forces.

Survive also adds new weapons, animations, 3D objects, and scripted modules to the game’s editor. Arma 3‘s campaign mode will be delivered via three free DLC episodes, the first of which, Survive, is due to go live on October 31. The final two episodes are titled “Adapt” and “Win.”
