Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s story will have a lighter tone and more humor, according to one of the game’s developers.
In an interview with Metro, Syndicate‘s game director, Scott Philips, said that the game wouldn’t take itself as seriously as previous iterations.
“Fun was something we definitely focused on in the story and in the gameplay. In the past, yes, I would say Assassin?s Creed has sometimes taken itself too seriously. So being part of that franchise what we wanted to do was maybe take it a little bit lighter,” Philips said. “We found the writers spent a lot of time laughing when they did the read-throughs of the story, so it definitely has a lighter tone than some of the games of the past.”
It’s good news to hear that the series that handled fist-fighting the Pope as if it were an unlaughable affair will be loosening its grip and having a little fun.
Assassin?s Creed Syndicate will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 23.
