Get ready to strap on a hat and kill some cats: The Behemoth’s formerly XBLA-exclusive platformer Battleblock Theater is headed to Steam.

According to the above announcement trailer, the indie gem will be getting a slew of upgrades above and beyond the 360 version, including an improved framerate of 21,000 frames per millisecond and support for up to five Oculus Rift headsets simultaneously.

In addition to those clearly fabricated features, the Steam version of Battleblock will also be getting new enemy types, a secondary weapon slot for quick swapping, Steam Workshop integration for user-created levels, and Steam Inventory support to make trading in-game items even easier.

At least, I think it’ll be getting those things. After all that 1,000,000p nonsense, it’s a bit hard to separate the fact from fiction.

There’s no word on when exactly the game will go live, but it should be fairly soon, since The Behemoth also announced that they’ll be running a closed beta event from March 24 through March 31. If you’re interesting in getting in on that, you can head over to the registration page and enter your info.
