A teaser trailer has revealed the fourth and presumably final DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, entitled Origins.
Though Treyarch’s Twitter account hinted at an announcement yesterday with a pair of cryptic posts, we’ve not got an official name for the pack, as well as some footage that indicates that it’ll be focused—at least partially—on the game’s popular Zombies mode. It’s worth noting that the first Black Ops‘ final piece of DLC, Rezurrection, didn’t feature any content for competitive multiplayer, so there’s a good chance Origins will follow suit.
The trailer’s tagline, “Every story has a beginning and an end,” seems to indicate that Origins will both explore the genesis of the zombies and resolve the narrative that’s been building since World at War came out way back in 2008.
As for what that resolution will actually entail? The trailer doesn’t provide too many answers, but we do get a few shots of trench warfare, what appears to be some sort of Mesoamerican temple, and a giant f***ing robot. Promising lot, that.
No word yet on pricing or availability, but given Activision’s spotless record of wrapping up Call of Duty‘s DLC releases before the next entry hits stores, it’s a safe bet that it’ll be out in October or sooner.
