Carbine has announced that it is closing down WildStar’s in-game Auction House and Commodities Exchange to prepare for the game’s upcoming switch to free-to-play.

“A significant amount of items within WildStar are being reworked with the launch of Free-to-Play, and we need to bring the Auction House and Commodities Exchange down so that all items can have enough time to return to their owners, and prevent any potential issue with the automatic item conversion system,” the developer explained.

The downtime will run from now until September 29th when free-to-play goes live.

Players who have active auctions during the downtime will be mailed their items back via in-game mail once the timer expires for the auction.
