If you’ve played through Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, you know that the encounters with the Torvin, the fearless Dwarven hunter, are some of the brighter moments in a narrative that otherwise trends toward the dark side. Developer Monolith Productions has now revealed details on the game’s first full expansion due later this year, Lord of the Hunt, which sounds like it’ll only up the intensity of the encounters with the Uruk hordes.
The most intriguing addition? Beastmaster Warchiefs, which will bring mounted confrontations to the game. Sure, you’ve been able to ride Caragors and Graugs yourself, but now you’ll go up against Uruks who have the same ability, which should make for some new strategies on the battlefield.
Other additions in Lord of the Hunt, available with the game’s $25 season pass, include additional story segments, new monsters—including the toxic-vomit-spewing Wretched Graug—new Epic Runes, and a special Beastmaster character skin for protagonist Talion.
