Bethesda has released a new Dishonored 2 video looking back on the secrets and details you might have missed in the game’s E3 2015 reveal trailer.
Arkane Studios Co-Creative Director Harvey Smith walks through the major beats of the reveal, discussing how those elements factor into gameplay. Though the trailer is entirely pre-rendered, Smith claims that every action main character Emily Kaldwin performs can be executed in-game. This includes abilities like the grapple arm and time freeze, as well as equipment like the crossbow and lightning mines.
Smith also touches on some of the narrative cues that can be found in the trailer. The visually impressive setting of the trailer, an ornate residence with dozens of moving parts, is a real location from one of the game’s missions, titled The Clockwork Mansion. Emily’s there to take on the Grand Inventor of Serkonos, a loyal servant of the region’s dictator.
He’s responsible for one of the new enemy types in the game, quick, humanoid machines called “clockwork soldiers” that sport swords and multiple cones of vision to deter stealth.
Dishonored 2 is set for release sometime in 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
