Red Thread Games has released a trailer for Dreamfall Chapters Book One: Reborn, the first episode in the new business model of the Kickstarted sequel.
The developer announced earlier this week that the game would be split into episodes to ensure that players had something to play by the originally stated November 2014 release date. “By releasing Book One this autumn, we hope to start generating income, all of which will go right back into improving the quality and scope of subsequent books,” the developer said. “And by dividing our work into five standalone releases, we’re able to give each book the focus, polish and attention it needs.
“This will benefit the game in terms of quality and stability, and it will benefit the team in terms of how many balls they need to juggle at once.”
“Okay, this is a pretty good trailer. Almost two minutes of scenes from #Dreamfall #Chapters Book One. And still SO much we’re not showing,” creator Ragnar Tørnquist said on Twitter. “Also, the trailer has some cool little clues & easter eggs. Some won’t make sense until later books, but some might be obvious already…”
Dreamfall Chapters Book One: Reborn is set to launch this fall for PC, Mac, and Linux.
