Deep Silver has announced Dead Island Riptide, a sequel to last year’s zombie-infested RPG hit Dead Island.

Development is currently underway at Polish developer Techland, with release currently planned for the PC and unspecified consoles. Given franchise history, it’s almost certain we’ll see Riptide on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but there’s also a chance the game might be coming to Nintendo’s Wii U this time around.

Other than that, details are few and far between, but a full reveal of Riptide, complete with all the juicy details, is planned for later in the summer. Here’s hoping its announcement trailer will be just as haunting as the first game’s.
