While EA’s E3 briefing is obviously full of big, bombastic properties like Mass Effect and Need for Speed, the company showed that they’re more than willing to take a chance on a smaller, more introspective title.
Unravel, a puzzle-platformer from Coldwood, an independent studio based in northern Sweden, is a bit of a twist from typical EA fare.
During EA’s briefing, Coldwood creative director Martin Dahlin detailed what players can expect from the game and its catlike yarn creature known as Yarny. Dahlin said Unravel came from the “need to make something more personal” and will focus on the thread that runs through everyone’s life. Yarny can use Yarn to swing across gaps, for example.
