Given that publisher Bethesda only just officially confirmed Fallout 4 yesterday with a much-anticipated trailer that highlighted what players can expect when the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise heads to a Boston setting, you wouldn’t anticipate the game coming out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC anytime soon—certainly not this year.
If online release dates from some retailers (including Bethesda’s own online store) are accurate, the game might be coming sooner than you think—even perhaps sometime in 2015. Bethesda initially had the game listed for a 2015 release, but that’s since been changed to “TBA.” Among the retailers listing 2015 are U.K. retailer Game, Amazon, and GameStop’s North American site. Game lists a date to be confirmed in 2015, while the latter two are currently posting a December 31st, 2015 release—certainly a placeholder.
On GameStop’s Italian site, however, things get intriguing, as Shacknews reports. Fallout 4 is listed for Xbox One, PS4, and PC for October 23rd, 2015—a curious date to set as a placeholder. Perhaps that’s all it is, but it’s worth keeping that date in mind as anticipation for the game builds over the coming months.
If you were somehow living in your own apocalyptic shelter yesterday and missed Bethesda’s trailer that officially confirmed Fallout 4‘s existence, here’s another look.
