Epic Games has released a new video for its upcoming free-to-play title Fortnite that expands on the four-minute gameplay trailer released last month.
Last month, the developer released some gameplay footage of the game’s Defend the Forte PvE mode, but now it has re-released the same gameplay with some added developer commentary from systems designer Cameron Winston and community manager K.L. Smith to give viewers a better idea of what’s going on.
The new video offers information on the game’s three classes, resource management, trap placement, combat, and the game’s enemies, known as Husks. The game’s adaptive AI “director” system is also discussed in the video. This system will change the game on the fly by reacting to player’s actions and defenses—similar to Left 4 Dead’s system—to ensure that the game never gets too easy.
Fortnite is in development for PC and is currently in alpha testing. You can sign up for the alpha here.
