Heroes of Might and Magic III HD Edition is coming to Windows PC and iOS and Android tablets January 29, 2015, Ubisoft announced today.

The Heroes III HD re-release will, of course, not only modernize the original 1999 visuals to something more appropriate for today’s widescreen world, and also add in an online multiplayer Steam lobby where fans to congregate. The PC version will also sport a map editor. Both tablet and PC versions of the turn-based strategy game will sport the original campaign scenarios and 48 skirmish maps.

“Community is at the core of the Might & Magic series, and we wanted to thank their everlasting support by bringing back the epic tale of Queen Catherine Ironfist,” creative director Erwan le Breton said in a press statement. “We wanted to keep the heart of what made Heroes III one of the most renowned titles of the series while providing an enhanced visual experience and offering the possibility to play the game on tablets.”

Heroes III launched on Windows PC February 28, 1999, and was met with high prais from critics.
