DayZ creator Dean Hall has announced his next project, a space-colonization MMO called Ion.

Few details were given beyond an announcement trailer, but Hall touted Ion as a “game that is not a game” making use of the laws of physics, biology, and chemistry to deliver a different kind of simulation experience inspired by the 2003 cult hit Space Station 13. The reasonable assumption is that Ion will serve as a kind of analogue to Sony’s more fantastical space exploration exclusive, No Man’s Sky.

Ion is a timed-exclusive, launching first on Xbox One and Windows 10 as part of the Xbox Game Preview program. No date was given.
