Earlier this week, Microsoft adjusted its Xbox Play Anywhere promise, and head of Xbox Phil Spencer has offered a reason for the change.

For those who missed all the news about the program, Xbox Play Anywhere offers support for cross-play, cross-saves, and cross-buy between Xbox One and PC titles.

Originally, the promise read that “every new title published from Microsoft Studios will support Xbox Play Anywhere.” Later, this statement was altered to read “every new title published from Microsoft Studios that we showed onstage at E3 this year will support Xbox Play Anywhere.”

Phil Spencer clarified to PCGamer on Twitter that the reason for this decision was due to some titles not being right for PC or Xbox, which makes sense.

For sure we know that ReCore, Sea of Thieves, Scalebound, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, and Forza Horizon 3 will all support Xbox Play Anywhere.
