Ghost Games has confirmed that the upcoming Need for Speed reboot is not connected to the Underground series, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be taking some pointers.
A post on the official Need for Speed Twitter account stated that the reboot is “not Underground 3 as such,” however, it “does share a lot of the stuff that made that game great.”
When the announcement was first being teased it looked as if Underground would be making a comeback, but sadly that wasn’t the case. Hopefully the upcoming reboot will share enough similarities to give Need for Speed: Underground fans what they’ve been after.
Developed by Ghost Games, Need for Speed features deep customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative.
?Need for Speed is one of the most iconic names in gaming, and we?re returning it to greatness in this reboot,? Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer at Ghost Games, said last week. ?Pulling on our 20 years of history, and then taking a year out from releasing a game, we are making the game we?ve always wanted to. We?re listening to the fans and delivering an experience that will capture their imagination and unleash their passion for cars and speed.?
Need for Speed will be racing onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this fall.
