A video by YouTuber TheyCallMeConor looks at how long it takes to walk across each of Grand Theft Auto?s cities?and, in the process, gives us a look at the evolution of those cities.

While most GTA players just hop in a car?or, in later games, some form of flight-based transportation?when needing to get from one place to another, TheyCallMeConor sets out on foot to see how long a trip across the city would take in each of the games.

For the original Grand Theft Auto, hoofing it takes 26 minutes 30 seconds?but, to be fair, that?s when taking the four offered cities into consideration together. By the point the video ends up at Grand Theft Auto V, elapsed time is counted in hours, not minutes.

There?s something interesting about the video on another level, though: watching the evolution of Rockstar?s open worlds, and just how much they?ve changed and advanced over the years. Grand Theft Auto has come a long way since 1997, and I can only imagine how it?ll progress in the years to come.

What was your favorite Grand Theft Auto city?either in terms of its design, or your memories of the adventures you had there? Let me know in the comments below.
