Earlier today, it looked like Mighty No. 9 might have been delayed to December 2nd because of a recent listing on the Xbox Marketplace, but it’s looking like the posting was an error on Microsoft’s end.
Originally scheduled to release in April 2015, Mighty No. 9 suffered a series of delays until developer Comcept recently settled on a spring 2016 date, promising that there would be no more delays from studio founder Keiji Inafune. The game’s listing on the Xbox Marketplace was recently changed to show a release date of “12/2/2016.” Initially, it appeared as if it had been delayed once more.
As first noticed by NeoGAF user WhiteRabbitEXE, the date likely refers to a previous, now incorrect, release date for the game, February 12th, 2016. The fact that the same “12/2/2016” date is listed in countries where date formatting is “DAY/MONTH/YEAR” and not “MONTH/DAY/YEAR” like it is in America lends credence to the theory that this was a slip-up on Microsoft’s posting and not a sign of a pushed-back release.
That said, there is still no firm release date on Mighty No. 9 other than spring 2016. Whenever Mighty No. 9 does come out, it will launch for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS Vita, 3DS, Mac, Linux, and PC.
