Payday 2 developer Overkill Software doesn’t at all feel threatened by Battlefield Hardline and Grand Theft Auto Online?s heists, but rather welcome the growth potential that comes from competition, producer Almir Listo told VG247.
?We?re not in a position any more where we have to be scared,? Listo told VG247. ?We have our community and we know what they want and this just makes the heists genre more popular.
?I?m looking forward to GTA Heists on PC and seeing what Hardline has got. From our perspective, we just welcome the challenge. Any competition can only make our game better. We will of course play their games and have a lot of fun and we?ll learn from them, what they did good and what they could have done better.?
Listo also noted that the team at Overkill are less inclined to continue on with Payday 2 or Payday 4 or ?Payday 5: Advanced Combat or whatever? but instead focus on producing new content for their existing fanbase for Payday 2. Though, really, a third proper Payday seems like an inevitability.
Payday 2: Crimewave Edition bundles the full game and all its DLC and lobs it over to PS4 and Xbox One this June.
