Square Enix has released update 3.21 for Final Fantasy XIV which introduces a brand new PvP mode called The Feast.
“The Feast is a new PvP arena in which the main objective is to steal your opponent’s medals. The winner of these matches is determined by whichever team has the most at the end of each match,” the developer explains.
The mode is divided into three arenas, each with their own rating: The Feast (8-on-8 matched), The Feast (4-on-4 solo), and The Feast (4-on-4 party).
At the end of each match players will be given a rating that will adjust based on whether they won or lost. These ratings will split the community into five tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond). Once the rating requirement for moving up a tier has been achieved, players will earn the right to fight in up to five promotion qualifiers, with three wins required to earn a promotion.
Rewards will be dished out at the end of the season depending on the tier achieved.
