Irish game developer Terry Cavanagh, creator of VVVVVV and Super Hexagon, has released his most recent project: a flash-based browser game called Naya’s Quest, the developer announced on Twitter.
With 8-bit graphics, an isometric view, and a simple control scheme that revolves around the skewed perspective (using only the down, right, up, and left keys on the keyboard), Naya’s Quest blends perspective-based puzzles and platforming throughout its grid-based world. Players are tasked with navigating the protagonist, Naya, to “the edge” by solving the game’s deceptively simple puzzles from room to room.
The game is totally free to play, and works in any browser, and is responsible for costing me 15 minutes of lost time when checking it out to write this news story, so that probably says a lot about it right there. Had to pry myself away to, y’know, do my job and all.
Cavanagh’s previous projects, VVVVVV and Super Hexagon, were released on Windows PC and iOS devices. VVVVVV is also available on Nintendo 3DS. You can check out Naya’s Quest on Cavanagh’s official website.
