Ubisoft has released the story trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate‘s upcoming DLC campaign featuring Jack the Ripper.

Twenty years after the events of Syndicate, history’s most infamous serial killer prowls the streets of London, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. It’s up to Evie Frye to stop him before even more victims end up dead.

The trailer goes to great lengths to obscure the Ripper’s identity, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Syndicate actually offers a solution to the notoriously unsolved mystery, either with a real-world suspect or an invented character from the main narrative. Evie’s brother Jacob is conspicuously absent from the trailer?save a disputed appearance at the 1:33 mark?though that may be nothing more than a red herring from Ubisoft designed to throw us off the scent of the real culprit.

Jack the Ripper will be available on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 15th, while the PC version arrives a week later on December 22nd. The Ripper campaign can be bought on its own or as part of Syndicate‘s season pass.
