While I know it’ll cause jealousy in some of you out there, I’m getting to spend some time this weekend with a game I’ve really been excited for: Splatoon. Coming off of last weekend’s beta test, I wanted to spend more time with the Inklings and their unique brand of third-person shooter competition, and that wish is now being granted. Judgement is still out on the game itself, but I totally adore the characters in this game?for me, Nintendo is always at its best when its away from Mario and Zelda, working instead on smaller, more original projects.

Considering The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continues to elude my grasp, perhaps it’s time to take matters into my own hands and get a fix with a fantasy world full of beheadings, flayings, and back-alley slayings. I haven’t yet played The Sword in the Darkness, the third chapter in Telltale’s episodic Game of Thronesseries, but this weekend would seem to be the perfect time to finally give it a spin. Either that, or I’ll just play MLB 15: The Show again. A blunt weapon of some sort is definitely in my future.

So, last week, I played baseball because I thought my NHL playoffs bracket was going to go completely belly up?but lo and behold, everyone I originally predicted to win, did actually come back to win! I absolutely nailed the final four teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Rangers now get set to take on the Lightning, and the Ducks are gearing up for the Blackhawks. Hoping to continue my hot streak, I’ll go back to playing NHL 15 this weekend, and predict the Rangers and Ducks will advance to the Stanley Cup Final. Let’s go Rangers!

My gaming time is going to be severely limited this weekend due to being away from home all weekend for a family party, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t be playing anything. Due to my lack of consoles, I’ll be spending some time with a little mobile free-to-play title called Final Fantasy Record Keeper. You may have heard of it?it basically allows you to relive the best moments from every Final Fantasy, fighting bosses and enemies alongside famous heroes from the franchise such as Cloud and Squall. It’s a fun little game that will melt hours away before you know it.
