Overwatch

Overwatch‘s second animated short, “Alive,” is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Released on PlayStation’s YouTube channel, “Alive” focuses on Widowmaker, Overwatch’s blue-skinned femme fatale. Over the course of the video, the assassin faces off against the quick-dashing Tracer while attempting to take out the important Omnic-equality leader, Tekhartha Mondatta.

Much like the Winston/Reaper video, “Recall,” there was an excellent balance of storytelling and references to the in-game mechanics within the animated short. An excellent sequence where Tracer dashes up a circular staircase in pursuit of Widowmaker?who is using her grappling hook to ascend through the center void?was particularly awesome, and showed off both characters’ movement abilities.

Also shown is the catalyst for the Second Omnic Crisis. Not sure what I’m talking about? Watch the video below.

Overwatch comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC May 24th.
