Experience The Birth of Left 4 Dead Via PAYDAY: The Heist Collaboration

Posted on June 15, 2012 AT 03:58pm

Recently, Sony Online Entertainment, Overkill Software, and Valve announced they’d be doing a collaboration which somehow brought together the worlds of Left 4 Dead and PAYDAY: The Heist. What exactly that collaboration will be has now been revealed.

“Have you ever wondered how the Left 4 Dead series began,” the official PAYDAY: The Heist YouTube page asks. “It started with a heist!”

In PAYDAY: The Heist – No Mercy, it seems that you’ll be tasked with breaking into Mercy Hospital in order to get blood samples from a patient that’s in quarantine. Mercy Hospital, of course, is the same hospital you visit in the original Left 4 Dead.

The question now, of course, is what part you actually play in the zombie outbreak. Does your breaking in to steal a blood sample help it get out into the wild? Or are you trying to get samples for a separate organization that knows of the threat and wants to start working on a cure? Hmm.
