Square Enix has released a new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn‘s upcoming 2.3 patch titled Defenders of Eorzea.
“Across the realm, voices cry out for a defender some brave soul who would guard the realm from peril,” reads the patch’s description. “Who will answer the call to stand before the Lord of Levin, to brave the dangers of the Crystal Tower to unearth lost Allagan secrets, and to delve into treacherous dungeons for spoils and glory?
“Stand fast against the unprecedented dangers that face Eorzea. Take up arms for your Grand Company in a battle for contested territory. Accompany Hildibrand agent of enquiry, inspector extraordinaire on his latest case. Take up the Hunt and track Eorzea’s most dangerous game to reap handsome rewards. Only through courage and sheer strength of will can you rise to be the defender of Eorzea!”
The patch will add a new 72-player PvP mode called Frontlines, a new Primal in the form of Ramuh, new single-player content, and much more.
The game’s producer and director Naoki Yoshida recently said that he would love to see Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox One, but the company’s refusal to allow cross-platform play is preventing it from happening.
