The Last Of Us

Last night Sony and Naughty Dog put on a special one-off performance of The Last of Us to celebrate the launch of The Last of Us: Remastered, and you can watch the whole thing right here.

The Last of Us: One Night Live saw voice actors such as Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) performing live readings of key scenes from the game, directed by writer and co-director Neil Druckman. Of course it goes without saying that the video above is one massive spoiler, so if you’re yet to actually play the game then I suggest you don’t watch it.

There was also a special previously unseen epilogue scene shown during the performance that isn’t included in the video above. The scene apparently takes place four years after the end of the game at Joel’s brother, Tommy’s dam, according to attendees, and features Joel and Ellie. The scene wasn’t allowed to be filmed, and will never be released be to the public.

If you’re really interested in what went on in the scene, you can read a brief synopsis below thanks to several attendees at the event (via NeoGAF). Heavy spoilers to follow!

In the scene Joel is talking to Ellie in her room at Tommy’s dam, telling her that Tommy is trying to set him up with a girl named Esther. According to various accounts of the scene, Ellie is acting distant and reserved. Joel then pulls out a guitar and sings a song. He then tells Ellie a joke, and the pair laugh together. Joel then gives the guitar to Ellie as a gift and then leaves. The scene ends with Ellie alone on her bed strumming the guitar.
