In a new video posted today on the official PlayStation Blog, Monolith Productions and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment give players a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the upcoming Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

I’ve had a few chances to play Shadow of Mordor in recent months, and even though you couldn’t pay be to be interested in all of the Middle-earth / Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit lore, I’ve become legitimately curious about the game. One of its core elements is the Nemesis System, where what actions you take against the Orc army can affect their morale, create or alter rivalries, and more.

The little tastes of the Nemesis System that I’ve had the chance to get have all been really intriguing. It adds a dynamic element to the game, but one you can directly help influence. Obviously, we’ll need to see how all of this promise turns out in practice, but that promise of an adventure RPG with a world that changes based on how you play and what you do is always an attractive premise.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor hits on October 7th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
