THE BUZZ: Everyone is disappointed that former WWE superstar Chris Jericho will not be included in the roster of THQ’s upcoming WWE ’12, but no one is taking the blame. Although he is no longer wrestling with the WWE fans had hoped he would be featured on the roster anyway, considering former WWE wrestlers Batista and Brock Lesnar will be included. Chris Jericho tweeted his disappointment to his fans saying “Dumb move on their part.”
THQ also expressed dismay via a tweet, Creative Director Cory Ledesma responded to fans saying, “Not having Jericho on the roster was not a creative decision. Can’t say much more than that. Factors beyond our control. We wanted him too.” As of right now, it seems the blame may fall on WWE, who has yet to respond to disheartened fans. WWE ’12 is scheduled to come out for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii on November 22nd.
EGM’s TAKE: Whether or not the WWE is in fact to blame is currently unknown. This wouldn’t be the first time someone lied on Twitter. Rumors persist that Chris Jericho is going to be making a comeback to the WWE sometime soon, and while every wrestler that isn’t already dead is rumored to one day make a comeback, it’s not without reason to believe they would intentionally hold him back until he is a full time wrestler on their roster in order to maximize the impact of his return.
With the game’s release imminent we’d say the last morsel of hope of playing with Chris Jericho in WWE ’12 would be as downloadable content in 2012.
