Codemasters has released a hot lap video for F1 2014 that offers fans a first glimpse at the game’s new turbo cars in action.

The video shows Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari making its way around the Bahrain International Circuit on a hot lap. If you follow the championship in real life then the sound of the car won’t come as a surprise, but for those who don’t, the new softer sounding engine may be a bit difficult to get used to at first.

F1 2014 will feature the new turbocharged cars, new circuits, plus the latest driver roster for the 2014/15 season. The game also features a new driver evaluation system that tunes game settings to players’ skill level to increase accessibility.

Codemasters is also working on a second Formula One title for release in 2015 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC that will receive regular updates throughout the F1 season, “enabling players to compete against the drivers and teams they watch week in and week out.”

F1 2014 is set to launch October 17 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
